Here’s what I don’t get: In a world where we are teaching our kids to say no to drugs, freaking out about administering flu vaccinations and worrying about how “organic” something is... we have companies creating this:
The Electric Cigarette
Now I don’t smoke, never have, but to me this seems like something Carrot Top would be pulling out of his trunk at a comedy club. Why in the world would someone actually use this product? Not to mention that according to the FDAelectronic cigarette samples have been found to contain carcinogens and toxic chemicals such as diethylene glycol, an ingredient used in antifreeze. Again, I have to ask, WHY?
I'd never seen anything like this, although it seems to have been around for some time now, until I went to the mall to upgrade my cellphone. There in the middle of the mall I watched a man pitching this product to one young person after another. I could not believe how many people actually bought into this ridiculous concept. It reminded me of people who buy fake designer handbags just so that they can “say” they have a Louis Vuitton –is it that important to you that people “think” you are smoking?
Is it just me or are our priorities really messed up around here?
